“Group”
A group is defined as “a number of things considered as a unit.”
We are not just a random group, or bunch, cluster, huddle, knot, lot, passel, mixture or a hodgepodge of guys… We believe that things happen for a reason and that nothing is an accident (in a sense).
When the foreordained band “The Malheruex”, was formed in the summer of 2006, neither one of us knew what to expect of the band or each other during our meeting. With the exception of Omar (bass), Adrian (guitar), and myself (guitar/vocals), it was the first time we had ever met Carlos (drums), and John (guitar/vocals). During our first practice, we all agreed that we wanted to make music which was different from any other form of music we had previously made. With that in mind we began to write our first song “ Stoves and Doors”, which was created on the same day of our meeting. The music was different, and the lyrics represented a form of “awakening” in ourselves, and how we want to share that awakening with others.
Every one well knows that life is a very scary, random, and unpredictable thing. It is understandable on my behalf to say that I am often perplexed at what may happen. I cant promise or say that I know what will happen to my life, your life, or this bands life span for that matter. But I can say that our music is deep and the lyrics will always be deeper. And I speak for all of us when I say... Although we cannot see what is in front of us, we agree that with some hard work and encouragement from our families, friends, special loved one's, and yourselves, this “group” or foreordained band of brothers will continue to make our music until our future becomes clear enough to understand what this is all for.
